What is the Master's degree in Digital Communication?

It is an official one-year, blended postgraduate degree in Spanish.

What makes this Master’s degree unique?

This is an officially recognised Master’s degree, validated by the ANECA (National Agency for Quality Assessment and Accreditation) and by FQ-EHEA (Qualifications Frameworks in the European Higher Education Area).

Therefore, this qualification would enable students to apply for access to a PhD programme which, after the completion of a PhD thesis, will lead successful students to obtain the highest level of education possible in Spain.

How many places are available?

This Master’s degree offers 35 places.

How much does it cost?

The official fee to be charged for each credit is stated at the Master’s website.

A higher fee will be charged when a student enrols for a subject for the second time, either because they did not sit the exam or because they did not pass it the first time. However, although the Master’s degree is a yearly course for full-time students, they may be eligible for a part-time option by registering for fewer subjects, which will take a little more time to complete the full degree.

Remember that you have the right to sit the exams twice: either in the regular examination call or in the special examination call, or both of them in you do not pass the exam in the first call, or you just did not sit the first exam.

What does it consist of?

The number of credits assigned to this Master’s degree totals 60, distributed in compulsory and optional subjects. Each subject worth 3 credits, except for the in-company internships and the Master’s Thesis (TFM), which worth 6 credits each. 

The curriculum includes 16 compulsory subjects and 4 optional subjects. You must choose 9 optional credits. 

This Master’s degree is entirely taught in Spanish.

Who is it aimed at?

Anyone interested can apply for this Master’s degree as long as they meet the admission criteria. There is, however, a recommended admission profile for this postgraduate degree. 

The recommended admission profile for this Master’s includes students who hold an official undergraduate degree in Advertising and Public Relations.

Applicants should bear in mind that the Master’s degree is an extension of the undergraduate degree and, thus, they are supposed to possess the required academic level to make the most of this study programme and successfully complete it.

Where?

This Master’s degree is blended learning with online theoretical sessions and in-person practical sessions that will be held at the University of Alicante premises.

When?

In-person sessions are usually held on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday evenings.

All degrees at the University of Alicante are subject to a set academic calendar that is approved and published every year. 

In the academic year 2023-2024, classes begin on 25 September and end on 28 May 2023.

The academic year is organised in two semesters. The first term ends on 19 January and the second term begins on 5 February. There is a regular assessment period between terms in which the final exams for the first-term subjects are held. At the end of the second term, there is another regular assessment period for the subjects taught during that term.

The completion of a Master’s Thesis (TFM) is a requirement for all Master’s degrees.
